About Us
Rare Company is a San Francisco Bay Area-based band famous for their simmered stew of original music — with a bluegrass broth, lean cuts of folk lyrics, finely minced harmonies, and a dash of swing for flavor. Their songwriting collaboration recently culminated in the release of their debut full-length album of original songs in 2026 (“Rare Company”, Portobello Records). The songs on the album span the glorious majesty of the Sierra mountains (“In the Shadow of These Peaks”), the romantic magic in the little things (“Any Way You Do It”), and the sheer impossibility of getting out of bed (“Gotta Hit Snooze”).
